What do you teach in your SAT courses?
At we
have the only SAT course in Hong Kong designed specifically for Hong Kong
students. Our students receive over ten real SAT past papers,
including real tests from this year. You won't find another
course in Hong Kong that offers students so many real SATs. Also, we write
our materials so that they thoroughly cover the difficulties that many Hong
Kong students have with the English on the SAT as well as provide students
with solutions for the most challenging math problems on the SAT.
For the critical reading section, we first give our students an extensive
list of SAT vocabulary and assign them vocabulary quizzes for every class.
Next, we teach the specific techniques for tackling the sentence completions
and critical reading passages. Finally, we break the class up into smaller
groups for drills and games to help students with both vocabulary and
test-taking.
For the writing section,
we start out by covering the basic grammar rules tested most frequently on
the SAT, including rules related to subject-verb agreement, parallelism,
idioms, noun agreement, precision and brevity. What’s more, we give our students essential test-taking
strategies that help them get a lot of the grammar questions right even when
the students aren’t sure of the exact grammar rules.
For the math, we start out by reviewing the basic math tested on the SAT.
Then, we teach the techniques that allow the students to quickly solve the
challenging problem solving and quantitative comparison problems. Finally, we
give students drills with some of the most difficult math problems on the SAT
and time them to chart their progress and help them improve.
Most importantly, we teach our students test-taking techniques that give them
an advantage over other students and therefore allow them to get a better
score on their SAT.
